Letter from José Antonio Pinilla Pérez: Our commitment to sustainability in 2025

The coming year presents us with more complex challenges, but also greater opportunities for companies committed to sustainability, such as Asseco Spain Group.

In 2024, more than half of the world’s population elected new political leaders, reshaping the business landscape in key areas such as regulation, trade, and investment. Today, businesses operate in a dynamic and uncertain environment, marked by geopolitical instability, economic pressure, technological advancements, and resource scarcity. Furthermore, rising inequalities, global conflicts, and the climate crisis affect us all, no matter where we are.

These challenges make a fundamental truth clear: sustainability is no longer an option, but an essential pillar for the resilience, competitiveness, and long-term success of any business.

In 2000, then-United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan called on businesses to work together with governments and civil society to build a more inclusive and ethical global marketplace. Since then, the Global Compact’s principles on human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption have redefined corporate responsibility and influenced corporate policy and practices worldwide.

At Asseco Spain Group, we have joined the United Nations Global Compact, which has allowed us to exchange ideas with thousands of business leaders from around the world. In this context, scrutiny of our actions is increasing, as are the demands for transparency and accountability.

We have actively participated in the Communication on Progress (CoP), collaborated on the new CoP Data Visualization Tool, and joined the Forward Faster initiative. We also strongly believe in the importance of the ethical use of new technologies. Artificial intelligence has the potential to drive sustainability through data analysis, process optimization, improved decision-making, and creative problem-solving.

We reaffirm our commitment to concrete and measurable actions in the area of sustainability. We aim to expand our global impact, launch new initiatives, and strengthen our role as agents of change.

In 2025, we will intensify our commitment to sustainability globally. We will move with the speed and scale that the future demands. Never before have the challenges been greater, but neither have the opportunities to make a difference.
